Govt resolves to uplift neglected sections: Naaz | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 23:- The Vice-Chairman Gujjar and Bakarwal, State Advisory Board Bashir Ahmad Naaz today reiterated government resolve to formulate special development plans for speedy upliftment of socially, educationally and economically neglected sections of the State. For this purpose, Tribal Sub-plan (TSP) are chalked out for focusing alround and comprehensive development of these areas besides raising basic infrastructure. Naaz was addressing a largely attended public gathering at Dera Dullain at Poonch and in Mendhar town on the completion of his 4-day tour of twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri today. Earlier, Naaz inspected renovation and repair works being executed at a cost of Rs 53 lakh over G&B hostel Poonch. District Development Commissioner, Kuldeep Lal Khajuria, ADDC Sayeed Anwar Hussain Shah, Executive Engineer PWD and other officers of the line departments accompanied him. Enroute to Mendhar, Naaz addressed public rally and directed to construct 3-km link road from water point to Dingi Cheer under TSP emphasizing that both the works should be completed by March end this year. Earlier, rousing reception was accorded to Naaz on reaching public rally organized at Mendhar. VC announced construction of two Gujjar Girls Hostels at Poonch and Kangan districts in the first phase under TSP during current year. Till then the hostels will function in rented buildings, he added. Other districts would be provided this facility in a phased manner. Various deputations from Mendhar, Manjakot and Chingus also called upon the VC and apprised him about the problems confronting them. Naaz listened them patiently and assured them that their grievances would be addressed on priority.
