| 3-day PPI campaign inaugurated at Doda | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
DODA, Jan 23-District Development Commissioner (DDC), Doda, Farooq Ahmed Khan today inaugurated 3-day Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign (PPIC) for 0-5 years age group children at New District Hospital Doda.
Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr Mir Mohd. Ashraf, Superintendent District Hospital, Doda, Dr Fareed Mohd. Bhatt and District President Medical Employees Federation, Mehboob Kriapak besides other functionaries of the Health Department also attended the immunization programme.
Giving a brief information regarding Pulse Polio Immunization Round 1st for the year 2010-11, Chief Medical Officer informed DDC that 74,138 children between 0-5 years age group will be covered under 1st phase of PPI in the District from 23-1-2011. He also revealed that to make the PPI campaign successful 535 booths have been set up in the entire District for the purpose whereas 2140 medical , param-medical Staff , ASHA’s , Anganwadi Workers , Teachers form Education Department , ISM Department and ICDS Department have been deployed to administer the oral PPI doses to the targeted children in the entire district. He also said that for supervision of the campaign 107 Health supervisors one supervisor per five PPI Booths have also been deployed for the success of the campaign.
