| NC’s mass contact prog in Mendhar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Mendhar Jan 23: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and MLC Javed Rana who is spearheading a mass contact programe of the party in border Tehsil Mendhar has claimed that scores of PDP workers have come into the partyfold.
In a statement here today, senior NC leader said that during the past over a week the party workers under his leadership have been going from door to door as part of mass contact programme. He said scores of senior PDP workers have joined the National Conference as they were impressed by the policies and programmes of the party. He said the visionary leadership of Omar Abdullah was attracting more and more people to the party fold.
Giving details of the senior PDP workers who joined the party during the past over a week, Rana said NC was growing as a strongest party in this border constituency as more and more people were entering into the party fold. The PDP workers who joined the party along with their supporters include Numberdar Khalid Hussain Chowdhary, from Kalar, former surpanch and senior PDP leader from Chunga Showkat Ali.
It is pertinent to mention here that Showkat Ali had contested the 2008 Assembly election against the party.
The MLC claimed that from Chinga Banola Muhammad Farooq Jat, Pervaiz Ahmed, Karamat ali, Muhmaad Iqbal, Muhammad Showkat, Gulsaid Hussain and several other senior PDP workers have also entered into the party fold during the mass contact programme.
