Flag hoisting in any part of country a matter of pride: BJP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 24: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) said flag hoisting in any part of the country, including Lal Chowk, is a matter of pride for every citizen of India. Addressing the media persons here, BJP’s state unit spokesperson Ramesh Arora said that the tri-color is symbol of national respect and it presents the spirit of freedom struggle and has the right of every citizen of the country to hoist national flag any where across the country including Lal Chowk, which is matter of pride. He said that many people laid down their lives during the struggle of independence and after their sacrifices the present tri-colour national flag attained such height in national and at International level. He added that Supreme Court categorically allowed and endorsed the right of a common citizen to hoist tri-colour at anywhere in any part of the country. Stopping or obstracting the hoisting the national flag on January 26 is viewed seriously by all representatives of different Sabha societies and traders. The hoisting should not be made as a matter of controversy. Arora said that if government will stop its hoisting at Lal Chowk it will amount to discourage nationalist forces and at the same time it will boost the morale of anti-national and separatist. It does not matter who hoist the flag because everyone is welcomed irrespective of their party affiliations. It is time when chief minister Omar Abdullah and other Central government representatives should come forward to hoist the symbol of respect at Lal Chowk instead of taking a decision to stop all those who want to hoist the same. If government will succeed in its design it will be a historical blunder and for this our state and nation has to pay a lot in the coming days. We cannot afford to give a signal to separatist and Pakistan that Lal Chowk is beyond the reach of nationalist and government is committed to felicitate separatist. Prominent among other who were present on the occasion included Shakti Sharma, S.P Arora, K.K. Arora, Gurmeet Singh, Satvir Singh, Vijay Grover, Avtar Krishan, Surinder Sharma, Jagmohan Khanna, Vijay Tarhen and Kuldeep Kumar besides other.
