Udhampur registers over 75 per cent expenditure till Dec 2010

UDHAMPUR, JAN-24:- Stressing for judicious and timely utilization of funds and execution of works with transparency, the Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand who is also the Chairman of District Development Board (DDB), Udhampur has exhorted upon the officers to achieve the optimum results on the ground in a stipulated time frame, with a focus to complete the works in available working period of current fiscal.
The Deputy CM was addressing a meeting of District Development Board (DDB), Udhampur held under his chairmanship to review the physical and financial progress registered under different sectors in the district ending December, 2010, here today.
District Development Commissioner, Baseer Ahmed Khan, Senior Superintendent of Police, Surinder Gupta, Director Local Bodies, Jammu, F.C Bhagat, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Rajinder Singh, Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, R.R. Sharma, Superintending Engineers PHE, PWD and PMGSY, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineers and District Heads of various Departments were present in the meeting.
Expressing his satisfaction over 75 percent utilization of plan funds ending December, 2010, the Dy. Chief Minister called for sincere and honest efforts of the officers of various development departments in achieving result oriented progress of work on the ground both physically and financially with no compromise on the quality of works executed within a period of two months left for the current financial year.
In the meeting, detailed review was held under District Plan, Centrally sponsored and major flagship schemes under implementation in Udhampur district. It was revealed that the district has an approved outlay to the tune of Rs. 82.48 Crores for the current financial year, against which an amount of Rs. 76.87 crores has been made available till date and out of which over 75% of the amount has been expended under different schemes.
