Govt committed to equitable development of all three regions: Shabir

RAJOURI, Jan 24: Reiterating the Government’s resolve to carry forward the agenda of equitable development in all the three regions of the State, the Minister of State for Power Shabir Ahmad Khan today said that the coalition Government is committed to fulfill all its promises with regard strengthening of economic profile of the State, besides bringing visible improvement in public service delivery system. The Minister, who is on five days extensive tour of Rajouri district, was addressing series of public meetings in Namblan, Tulmulian and
Palourian in Manjakote and Thanamandi blocks today. Shabir inaugurated the construction work of 4 km road from Doongy to Namblian being constructed under PMGSY at an estimated cost of rupees 1.68 crore. He also inspected the work on 6 km Mubarakpora-Sohana road coming up at an estimated cost of rupees 2.52 crore and 3 km Dassal Gujran-Seeran road which is under construction at an estimated cost of rupees 1.36 crore. The Minister was informed that rupees 1.22 crore have been incurred on Mubarakpora-Sohana road and is expected to be completed within stipulated time. While inspecting Draddi- Dabrote water supply scheme, the Minister appreciated the authorities of the concerned department for redoubling their efforts and completing the construction work before the stipulated time. He was informed that there was a great problem of drinking water in the area and by completing this scheme more than 40,000 people of the area will get portable water facilities.
