| JJSF holds protest against Mattoo’s appointment | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 24: Jammu Joint Students Federation (JJSF) today held a protest demonstration on Jammu University Campus under the Chairmanship of Jatinder Singh (President JJSF, Jammu University).
Terming Amitabh Mattoo’s appointment as first Vice-Chancellor of Jammu Central University - despite widespread resentment, protest demonstration, representations- the JJSF activists said that the move
is an onslaught on the dignity, honour and self respect of Jammuites.
The protesters burnt the effigy of Union HRD Minister, Kapil Sibbal,who according to JJSF activists is hell bent and is desirous of sending Mattoo to Jammu after bypassing all precedents, conventions and even ignoring UGC guidelines and set principles for the said appointment, just to further the game plan of foreign agencies to disintegrate J&K.
JJSF viewed the reported appointment of Amitabh Mattoo for thiscoveted post, a sinister design to further the agenda of secessionist forces which coincides with appointment of interlocutors who are having pre conceived and pre determined agenda in their pocket, shortly to be revealed.
They said that Govt. of India is completely and exclusively playing an agency of foreign powers who does not want this great nation to remain intact and united. JJSF further added that its an challenge to Jammu’s potential, Caliber and efficiency who already have produced two chiefs
of Army Staff, two chief justices of India and what not and appealed the people to demonstrate courage, unity and solidarity to oppose this known anti-Jammu and anti-national element. JJSF would not allow
Amitabh Mattoo to function as VC of this prestigious institution as already important institutions including all Universities in Jammu region are captured by non-Jammuites.
