Ultras wait for opportune moments to intrude: BSF | | | Early Times Report srinagar, Jan 24: The Kashmir Frontier BSF IG Baljit Singh today said the PoK-based militants were in wait for opportune moments to cross over to this side of the border but the troops were alert enough to foil their any infiltration bid. He said though they had made several attempts to infiltrate, they had been unsuccessful so far.As the troops were on alert on the border, they had not been able to do anything this year, the IGP claimed. "Militants have been trying and will be trying to infiltrate as they continuously change their infiltration points depending on the climate in the area and the strength of troops in the regio,", he said. However, there was no exact head count of militants active in the valley and all the figures about them were speculative, Singh added. "We can say there are 250 to 300 militants in Kashmir but there is no exact head count," he said. The intelligence inputs about the number of militants waiting across the border suggest a "large number" of them were there, the IGP said. |
