| National Voters’ Day celebrated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAMBAN, Jan 25: The National Voters’ Day was celebrated here today with great enthusiasm.
The District level function held at Community Hall, Maitra Ramban
which was presided over by the District Election Officer, Ramban,
Shabir Ahmad Bhat, and also attended by Additional Deputy
Commissioner, Ramban, Assistant Commissioner (Rev), Ramban and other
Officers.
About 1000 persons including new voters were present on the occasion.
A pledge was administered to the voters by the District Election
Officer, Ramban, to uphold the dignity of elections and vote in the
elections without any fear, inducement or influence. EPICs and badges
were distributed among the new voters on this occasion.
Addressing the gathering, District Election Officer, laid stressed on
the value of their vote and said that voters who are backbone of
democracy should exercise their right to franchise in all the
elections including parliamentary, state assembly or panchayat as well
as local bodies’ elections. Similar functions were also organized at
all the polling stations by Booth Level Officers in respect of Ramban
Assembly constituency.
