Cultural Academy condoles Taj-u-Nisa’s demise

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 25: J&K Cultural Academy has expressed deep shock and concern over the
demise of renowned Kashmiri poetess Taj-u-Nisa Taj, who breathed her
last at her native village Tral today.
She was about 80 years old and was associated with Kashmiri poetry
since her childhood. In this connection, condolence meetings of the
Academy staff were held at various offices of the Academy in which
rich tributes were paid to the departed soul.
During the condolence meet, the speakers asserted that Taj-u-Nisa Taj
had contributed a lot to promote and develop Kashmiri literature. She
has 2 poetic compilations “Willa Tsar” and “Khooni Jigar” to her
credit while some of her books are presently under compilation.
The speakers further said that Taj-u-Nisa Taj had her own diction and
theme and by her demise, a vacuum has been created which is very
difficult to fill in. The speakers expressed sympathy with the
bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
