Agri deptt holds mushroom cultivation training programme | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 25: One day training-cum-practical demonstration programme on Cultivation of Dhingri Mushroom was organized by Mushroom Development Section, Department of Agriculture at Demonstration Cum Training Centre Talab Tillo here today. More than 50 mushroom growers from Bishnah, R.S. Pura , Akhnoor , Dansal and Marh area participated in the programme. R L Bangotra Mushroom Development Officer while interacting with farmers (Mushroom Growers) said that Dhingri mushroom gives more profit within short period of time with less investment. He further said that the cultivation of Dhingri mushroom has very good potential for the new growers particularly the unemployed youth, landless border area farmers because of its easy method of cultivation and less investment. Some of mushroom growers raised the queries regarding the low yield of button mushroom. the farmers were advised to maintain temperature, proper aeration and hygienic conditions. Spawn Production Officer, S L Dhar discussed the varieties of Dhingri mushroom being cultivated in Jammu district. In technical session Aman Jyoti MDA (Extn) and S K Bhan (MDA DCTC) discussed in detail the cultivation of Dhingri mushroom and also gave practical demonstration. On the occasion, certificates of participation were distributed among Mushroom growers who had participated in 7-day long Button mushroom training programme held in the month of September and October 2010.
