| VOJ files closure report in corruption case | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan: 25 :- State Vigilance Organization filed a closure report against Kusrhsid Ahmed then Range Officer Mendhar against whom case was registered under FIR 41/1994 in the year 1994 u/s 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt 2006.
The report was filed before the Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu with the submission that after years it is also difficult at this belated stage to establish the allegations regarding used of wood by the accused at his residence as such a report in this regard was submitted by the Investigating Agency to Central Office SVO wherein the case file was again examined and it was decided to close the case and filed final report before the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu.
According to the allegations that of misuse of official position by Kusrhsid Ahmed then Range Officer Mendhar that he illegally sold green trees including Chir & Deodar trees from different compartment of forests more than Rs 10 lacs was embezzled by the said Range Officer in respect of development work. During the course of investigation IO collected relevant records and a departmental enquiry into the matter conducted by three members committee comprising of DFO Poonch, DFO Nowhsera and Assistant Conservator of Forest Poonch was seized, the statement of committee members and other officials have also been recorded and after investigation of more than sixteen years State Vigilance Organization came to conclusion that it is difficult at this belated stage to establish the allegations and filed closure report.
