| Where are Pscedo human rights activists? | | |
The terrorist, who indulge in wanton killings of the innocents day in and day out, miss no opportunity to malign the security forces and raise hue and cry over any retaliatory action by them which leads to the killing of terrorists or sometime innocents, caught in the cross fire. While the Kashmiri secessionists cry foul over any killing by the security forces, even if it is in an operation against the insurgents who target them or the civilians. Even the so-called human rights activists join course with the secessionists and the militants in defaming the security forces over slightest provocation or over a real or trumped up excuse. But they turn blind eye over any brutal action by the terrorists either against the security personnel or even against the innocent civilians. Not a single voice has been raised from any of these quarters over the merciless killing of four members of a single family in a remote Manglogi belt of Ranban district on November 4. Four members of a family, cousin sisters, Mobina 25 and Shahida 30 and Mobina's parents Ahad Bhatt and Fatima were mercilessly killed by the militants suspected to be from Hizbul Mujahaidden, for the refusal of the parents to marry their daughters to two militants of the HM outfit. Forcing their entry into the house of Ahad Bhatt these militants sprayed bullets and all the four members present in the house were killed on spot. According to the police a group of local militants were threatening Bhatt to accept the marriage proposals of two alleged militants for his daughter Mobina and niece Shahida. Taking Bhatt's refusal to the proposal as an insult, the militants in a good number, armed with weapons barged into the house of Bhatt and eliminated all the four members of the family present there. This incident is not a solitary one or exception. The terrorists belonging to various outfits invariably indulge in molesting and plundering the honour of woman folk and committing rapes not only in the remote areas, but even in the populous localities in the towns. The killing of the victims for their refusal to provide shelter, hide out and food to the militants who forcibly barge into the houses of innocent villagers, is a common feature. But strangely the conscious of the secessionist, who pretend to be standing on high moral pedestal in the matter of protecting the honour of woman folk, is not shaken. Rarely the common people in Kashmir rises to protest against such heinous acts of the militants, out of fear of reprisal. While any case of dishonour to women even unintentionally by the security personnel is blown out of proportion, using it as a tool of propaganda to malign the forces no voice is raised against looting of the honour of women or solemnizing forced marriages by the militants. While one cannot expect better from the secessionists, who leave no chance to strengthened their propaganda angle projecting the security forces as the forces of occupation, the silence on the part of pscedo human rights activists over such incidents is intriguing
