Republic Day celebrated with patriotic fervour

JAMMU, Jan 26: The 62nd Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm across the state. The main function held at Maulana Azad Stadium where the Governor, NN Vohra hoisted the national flag and addressed the gathering.
Beside the main function, the day was also celebrated at several places by various political parties, educational institutions, social as well as religious organizations, Mohalla committees with full zeal and fervour.
Pradesh Congress Committee's Vijaypur unit celebrated 62nd Republic Day at Vijaypur with great pomp and show. Former Minister Manjit Singh was the chief guest on this occasion who unfurled the tricolor. After hoisting national flag, sweets were distributed among the party workers.
Peoples Democratic Party celebrated Republic Day at different places in Jammu. The main function was held at party office at Gandhi Nagar in which veteran leader and former Minister and spokesman of the party Rangil Singh hoisted the national flag.
Other senior party leaders who were present on the occasion include Balbir Singh, Ved Mahajan, Shanti Devi, Falail Singh and Hussain Ali Wafa.
Rigzin Spulber the Chief Executive Councilor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council hoisted the National Flag at Leh Polo ground. Thousands of spectators and participants witnessed the 62nd Republic day celebration despite severe chilly weather in Leh.
While addressing the huge public gathering, the Chief Executive Councilor paid homage to all those who lost their live in previous year's devastating flood.
Sky High India Social Organisation (SHI) today celebrated 62nd Republic Day in presence of all the members of the organization and general public.
The programme started with hoisting of tricolour. Sweets were also distributed among children and others who were present on the occasion.
Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu celebrated 62nd Republic day with traditional gaiety. Y.V. Sharma, President Chamber of Commerce & Industry unfurled the National Flag. Addressing members on the occasion Y.V. Sharma highlighted achievements and progress made by the country.
National Secular Forum celebrated the Republic Day with much enthusiasm at its Head Office. President NSF, Vikas Sharma hoisted the national flag and threw light on the importance of the Day in Indian history.
RM College of Education Chowadi, Sainik Colony Jammu, celebrated Republic Day with great fervour and gaiety. Trustee Rita Mengi and Principal PK Dhar along with staff and students of B Ed, BBA and BCA hoisted the tricolour in the college campus.
J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra Secondary School for Hearing & Speech Impaired celebrated 62nd Republic Day in the School premises with great enthusiasm and gaiety. The students, teaching faculty and parents attended the function, besides members of Kendra Management Body.
J.K.Vaid, General Secretary, hoisted the National Flag Senior Congress leader and former MP Janak Raj Gupta hoist the national flag at Green Belt Gandhi Nagar Jammu in the presence of hundreds of congress party workers and people of Gandhi Nagar constituency.
While addressing Janak Raj Gupta greeted people of Jammu and Kashmir and appealed to the masses to maintain the peace and communal harmony in the state.
On the occasion of 62nd Republic Day, the Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party hoisted national flag at its State headquarters Gandhi Nagar and Rajinder Bazar Jammu.
Bahujan Samaj Party celebrated Republic day by hoisting the national tricolor in the premises of BSP's state head office. The flag was unfurled by state BSP president Tulsi Dass Langeh
The employees of PHE department Jammu under the banner of PHE workers welfare association hoisted the tricolor at various places in Jammu city viz PHE Mech division south, New Plot, Rajpura PHE Mech sub division Sitlee, PHE station No. 22, and Shakti Nagar
The main function was organized by the association at PHE City sub division Dounthali where Chief Engineer PHE department Jammu, Dalip Bakshi hoisted the tricolor in the presence of hundreds of PHE employees. The staff and the students of the Hr. Sec School, Sarwal celebrated
the Republic Day with pomp and show. The principal, Bishan Singh unfurled the national flag and stressed upon the students to maintain communal harmony and discipline.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) celebrated the national festival at party headquarters. While hoisting National flag, former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh NCP Chief paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters adding that to protect hard earned freedom more sacrifices are needed.
A function was organized by Students of ASCOMS (Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital) on the occasion of "REPUBLIC DAY" on 26th Jan.
The celebrations started with the patriotic spirit of students by hoisting the national flag, then followed by the melodious singing performances by the young doctors as a tribute to our freedom fighters. The students came forward in one voice of VANDEY MATARAM to salute our motherland and congratulated the administrative and academic staff for REPUBLIC INDIA.
They promote the feeling of unity and condemn separatism on the basis of regions and religion, and raised together in one voice with the proud feeling of being INDIANS.
The Stare President (INTUC) Indian National Trade Union Congress Jammu & Kashmir and also the President Water Works (PHE) Employees Association Jammu Province celebrated 62nd Republic Day at PHE Pumping Station Sub-Division-I, Company Bagh, Jammu. Dalip Bakshi, Chief Engineer, PHE hoisted the National Flag.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, State President INTUC, J&K was also present on the occasion 62nd Republic Day was celebrated with full enthusiasm and zeal at BSF Frontierr Headquarters Paloura. Sidharth Chattopadhyaya, IG BSF unfurl the National Flag in a
programme organised at BSF Stadium Paloura. All the senior officers, SOs and other ranks were also present on the occasion. Chattopadhyaya took the guard of honour and speaking on the occasion, he remembered all the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for
the sake of nation.
A simple but impressive function was organized by Indian National People Welfare Society wherein national flag was hoisted in the Ram Leela Ground Bahu Fort Jammu by the President Ram Singh in the presence of public and students of different educational institutions.
For the first time after Independence a flag hoisting programme was organized at Tehsil Complex, Dargloon under the banner of Tehsil Bahhali Committee, Balakote wherein public in large numbers participated whereas the official function was held at Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Dargloon. The flag was hoisted by Nazirullah Khan, Chairman newly constituted committee. State Bank of India celebrated the Republic Day in the premises of Administrative office, Jammu.
K K Iyer, Deputy General Manager State Bank of India hoisted National flag in the premises of Administrative Office Building, Jammu in the presence of staff. Sweets were distributed amongst the children and sports meet of children was also held.
Garden Avenue Welfare Society Association today celebrated Republic Day in DBN School premises today. On the occasion former deputy CM Mangat Ram Sharma was the chief guest who unfurled the national flag along with the members of Garden Avenue Welfare Association and their families. Leela Karan Sharma ex- convener of Sangarsh Samiti was also present on the occasion.
Republic Day was celebrated at Twinkle Play Way School, Roop Nagar. The programme was started with the national flag hoisting by MLA Bharat Bhushan. Students also presented the cultural programme. Principal Madhu Gupta and staff members of the school were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion of 62nd Republic Day, the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organised a musical evening at Town Hall Doda in which several musical parties of the state took part. Prominent performers included Assadullah Yatoo, Naseem-ul-Haque-Waseem-ul-Haque, Ustad Rehmat Ali Rehmat, Vishal Singh, Farooq Ahmad Khokar and Shahid Malik
among others. Deputy Commissioner Doda, Farooq Ahmad Khan was the chief guest on the occasion while additional deputy commissioner, Doda, A. R. Natnu was the guest of honour.
A colourful function was organized by District Congress Committee, Udhampur on the eve of 62nd Independence Day. A Parbhat Pheri was taken out and carried through the main bazaars of Udhampur receiving unprecedented welcome all-over. The procession culminated at Shaheed
Bhagat Singh Park, Udhampur, where the national tricolor was unfurled by Bhupinder Singh Pathania, Udhampur, District Congress President.
In kathua The activists of the District Congress Committee, Kathua organized a programme at its district office to celebrate the 62th Republic Day under the leadership of MLC and district president Subash Gupta by hoisting the national flag. On the occasion, the district general secretary Bhupinder Singh( Pinku), block president Sohan Lal Sharma, senior Congress leaders Lal Chand Sharma and Rattan Chand Kalotra, Narinder Sharma, Naresh Sharma, Kewal, Neelam Kumari, Balbir Choudhary were present and expressed the importance of the day.
Similarly, the Rajiv Gandhi College of Education organized a function to celebrate the 62st Republic Day . Rtd ZEO Shanti Saroop was the chief guest and the principal of the Kidzee Sujata was the guest of honour on the occasion. The programme was graced by the students by performing cultural activities reflecting the essence of the Indian multiple culture and unique kind of unity and brotherhood. On the occasion, the Chairman of the college Sh. Pankaj Dogra, Chairperson Smt. Anu Dogra, and Principal G.P Sachdev were present.
Meanwhile, district president of National Panther Party of Kathua Ravinder Pathania hoisted the national flag at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, Kathua and garlanded the statues of the great heroes of the nation martyr Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev.
The 62th Republic Day was celebrated by the several schools in Govt H.S.S Kokhyal where former sarpanch Karan Singh hoisted the national tricolor flag. The marchpast, PT and cultural activities performed by the students of various schools and a dynamic activity named 'Lazium' was also performed by the students of Girls Middle School Kokhyal under the guidance of Parvinder Pal Singh which was appreciated by all the present. The principal of HSS Kokhyal Manmohan Kour, teacher Shivnand Gupta, Tarsem Chand, Madhan Lal, Sat Paul, Renu Kiran , staff members, students and the all villagers were present to celebrate the republic day.
The Vivekananda College of Education celebrated the 62th republic day in the premises of the college. Deputy Commissioner Excise and toll post Lakhanpur Bashir Ahamad Saraf was the chief guest who hoisted the Indian national flag. The chairman of the college Sudarshan Gupta, Principal Anju Sharma along with staff members and students were present.
62nd Republic day was too celebrated in simple and impressive ceremony by the staffof Excise Department at Toll Post Lakhanpur today where the tricolor was hosted by Dy. Excise Commissioner Bashir Ahmed Saraf . He on the occasion impressed upon the officers to work for the prosperity and devotion for the prosperity of the state and the Nation.
All Shopkeepers Association General Bus Stand Jammu celebrated Republic day with hundreds of Kashmiri laborers and other Kashmiri passengers held up in Jammu due to suspension of all vehicular traffic between Jammu and Srinagar. Sh. Vinod Sharma Vice Chairman JDA, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion unfurled the National Flag, with playing of National Anthem and chanting of "Jai Hind" by the participants, which included about two hundred Kashmiri Muslims stranded here for last two days and staying put at Jammu Bus stand and surrounding lodgings.
On the eve of Republic Day, a colourful function was held in Boys Pahari Hostel Shastri Nagar Jammu. Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Shah Bukhari, Vice-Chairman State Advisory Board for Development of Pahari Speaking People, who was the chief guest on the occasion, hoisted the "National Flag".
At Katra, Additional Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB, Katra, Dr. Mandeep Bhandari unfurled the National flag and took salute at an impressive march past of contingents drawn from various educational institutions including JKP in the premises of Govt. HSS Katra, today.
A colourful cultural programme was also presented by the students on the occasion. Prizes were also given to the participating teams and meritorious students.
Similar functions were held at Municipal Committee, Katra, Higher Secondary School Panthal, GHS Kundra, Government School Chamba, GHS Agar Jitto and GGHS Katra where Chief Guest/Head of the Institutions and office hoisted the national flag and sweets were distributed among the school children on the occasion.
Among others, senior police and civil officers, prominent citizens, heads of different educational institutions and students in large number were present on the occasion.
At R. S. Pura, 62nd Republic Day was celebrated with pomp and show at Sub Division R S Pura here today. The main function was held at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture, Science and Technology (SKUAST) premises where the Sub Divisional Magistrate, R. S. Pura, Ashwani Kumar Khajuria unfurled the National Flag and took salute from the 22 contingents drawn from NCC, Scout & Guide, school children and Army Band. Vice Chancellor, SKUAST, R. S. Pura, Commandant BSF R. S. Pura and Miran Sahib, SP Rural, Shailander Singh, Former MLA Mr. Ram Chand Bhagat, SDPO H. S. Gill and other sub-divisional officers and
prominent citizens were present on the occasion. Republic Day function was also organized at Tehsil, Sub Division and Niabat level in district Udhampur with great pomp and show, today.
At Akhnoor, 62nd Republic Day was celebrated with great zest & zeal here today. Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Sub Divisional Magistrate Akhnoor hoisted the Tri-Colour at Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Akhnoor.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma appreciated the role of security forces in maintaining peace and asked the children to work with dedication in studies and also keep away from drugs and other addictions. March Past and Cultural Programme were also presented by the students on the occasion.
Similarly, Republic Day celebrations were also held at Government Middle School Pyan, Government Middle School Barui and Government Middle School Gurah Jagir in Tehsil Akhnoor where ZEO Akhnoor Gurdev Singh unfurled the national flag and took salute at the March pass. Colourful cultural programmes were also presented at all these institutions.
