Healthy Baby contest held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 26: With an aim to promote the concept of 'healthy mother and healthy baby', a 'Healthy Baby Contest' was today organized at Suvidha Nursing Home, Canal Road, Jammu. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Jammu-Kathua Range Farooq Khan was the Chief Guest. Only twenty-five babies within age group of 1-2 years were allowed to participate in the contest. Kids were assessed on the basis of physical parameters in relation to their age and their level of hygiene. The mothers were subjected to a set questionnaire out of a question bank and the questions were rotated to different mothers. The assessment for prizes was made by Pediatricians and Gynecologists present on the occasion. The Gynecologists present on the occasion were Dr. Yudhishter Vir Gupta, Dr. Amita Gupta and the Pediatricians present for this event were Dr. Mahesh Gupta, Dr. Narinder Pargal and Dr. Ravi Parihar. There was great enthusiasm among toddlers' parents for their participation in the contest. They appreciated the institution and the doctors for organizing such an event which not only helps to encourage the concept of 'healthy mother and healthy baby' but also strengthens the bond between doctors and masses. They hoped that, in future also, such events for other age groups, would be organized by the Institution in similar way.In his address, Chief Guest, DIG Farooq Khan, appreciated the organizers for choosing Republic Day and felt thrilled at the enthusiasm of the participants. First four babies, who were declared winners, are Baby Ashna, Baby Gursehaj, Baby Kavya and Baby Suhani, respectively and four best mothers are Sumaira, Shafala, Monika and Pooja. |
