Rajouri, Jan 26: It may sound incredible to many that any Pakistani young man can praise and appreciate Indian democracy , but it is fact that a 26-year old student of political science in Mirpur university, Faisal Iqbal did so. Faisal Iqbal, a Political Science student of Mirpur university in POK was here in border district Rajouri on permit to meet his relatives .
Giving details, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, GA Khawaja said that POK resident Faisal was here on permit to meet his relatives and he expressed his wish to see the Indian republic day celebration following which he was extended proper invitation by district administration. He was also introduced with chief guest and other dignitaries, said Khawaja. While talking to this correspondent, Faisal said that he was highly impressed with the Indian republic day celebrations and desires to see such things in Pakistan too. When asked, how they celebrate their constitutional day? Faisal said" we have not enjoyed any constitution so far in our country , the question of celebrations does not arise at all", said Faisal adding that they celebrate only Independence day on August 14 . He said he was highly thankful to the district administration Rajouri for extending an invitation to him to witness the Indian Democratic day . "And I think you people should invite more youth from POK to witness such functions who are miss guided there by certain forces about Kashmir", said Faisal adding that when he gets back he will tell his young friends and colleagues that there was no need for "Jihad" in Indian side as the people of Indian side of JK enjoy much democracy and liberty as compared to their side of Kashmir. He was deeply impressed with the participation of common masses in republic day celebrations. "I am student of Political Science in Mirpur University and I can well under stand that the participation of common masses in such functions indicates that they are happy with their system. "We were told there that Indian forces have been forcibly occupying Jammu and Kashmir but the people are against . But i am surprised to see that every child is dancing at his/her own and they were enjoying the day like a festival", he said.
Impressed with the Indian system of democracy, Faisal Iqbal said that on his return to his native place he will tell his colleagues not to get misguided more about Indian side of Jammu and Kashmir and do not disturb their peace and liberty they enjoy . " I think the people of the sides of Kashmir should sit to gather and ponder that who needs AZAADI. Both the governments should allow free movement of Kashmiris across LoC and people will decide themselves which one side is better", said Faisal.
