Colourful functions organised to mark R-Day celebrations | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 27: Pradesh Congress Seva Dal chief Balvinder Singh Sambyal celebrated Republic Day by unfurling the tricolour at Talab Tillo. The celebration began with national anthem and hoisting the flag and distributing sweets among each other and school kids. In another event Vipan Nischal, district chief, Jammu urban also unfurled tricolour at Shiv Mandir chowk Gandhi Nagar with a large number of general public present there. Commencing the function with sweets, he congratulated everybody and hoped to do the better work in future also. Prominent among those who were present on the ocassion included Puneet Singh Slathia, Prikshit Gupta, Harinder Singh, Aditya Malhotra, Jatin Gupta, Nisha Chouhan, Bably Gupta, J.K Koul, Ichpal Singh, Taro Devi, Kanta Devi, Sanjeshwar Singh and besides others. Kawa College of Education, an institution recognized by the J&K Govt. and affiliated to the University of Jammu, celebrated Republic Day by hoisting the National Flag and organizing a colorful function where the students of the college presented various cultural items. The function was presided over by M.S Katoch. Others present were the Principal- Dr.Anita Bali, Radhika Jamwal, Madhu Jamwal. On the occasion, M.S Katoch, chief guest of the function highlighted the importance of this day in the history of Independent India and asked the students to be aware about their Rights and Duties in the Independent India. The students were also addressed by the Principal Dr.Anita Bali who in her speech highlighted the contribution of all great personalities in framing the Constitution of India . In connection with the 62nd Republic day of India, an impressive and colorful function was held at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. The Vice Chancellor Prof. R.N K Bamezai unfurled the tricolor. In his address, Prof Bamezai greeted the faculty, staff and students at the Republic day. He encouraged the students and faculty to take a lead and become a source of inspiration for others. He also remind words of Mahatma Gandhi that along with rights comes the duty 62nd R-Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour by the students and staff of Govt Higher Secondary School, Govt High School Ghou Manhasan and Govt Middle School Ghou Manhasan in a joint programme organized in the premises of Govt Higher Secondary School Ghou Manhasan. Principal, P D Sharma who was the chief guest on the occasion, hoisted the National Flag and took the salute of March Past of the students. To mark the occasion, students presented a verity of cultural items which were applauded by the large audience present on the occasion. Principal, while addressing the students enlightened them about the sacrifices of the great leaders in achieving the democracy in which they are living today. He appealed the student community to rise to occasion to carry forward the torch of democracy and help in developing the nation to new heights. All the staff members of Govt Higher Secondary School, Govt High School and Govt Middle School Ghou Manhasan were present to grace the occasion. Those who were present on the occasion included Days Gupta, headmistress, GHSS Gho Manhasa, Poonam Gupta, headmistress Govt Middle School, Gho Manhasa, Rajinder Singh Chib, Ex corporator, Shamsher Singh, Mohan Khajuria and Gandharav Singh. Similarly, Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust celebrated the 62nd Republic Day with great fervour and enthusiasm. The President of the Trust, Thakur Divakar Singh hoisted national flag at Dharmarth Trust Office, Karan Bhawan Shallamar Road Jammu., Shri Raghunath Paathshala, Jammu Shri Ranbir Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya , Birpur. All employees of the Trust, teachers and students were present at their respective places of flag hosting ceremony. National songs were sung and sweets were distributed among participants. Illumination was done on all Dharmarth Trust buildings. At High School, Kundra, the 62nd Republic Day was celebrated in the school premises which is situated on the top of small hill. A colourful programme was presented on this occasion. The headmaster of the School Gopal Krishan Komal hoisted the National Flag while Bawa Jitender Pal Sodhi was the chief guest on the occasion. Over 600 people were present there while 5 other schools were Govt Middle School, Dera, Govt.Middle School Chumbiyaan, Govt.Middle SchoolBhabber,Banda Bahadur Private Academy, Narania Shishu Kala Academy Kundra. The cultural items by the different schools were highly appreciated.all the people praised the working of Head Master Gopal Krishan Komal for the school and also the staff and students for their teaching and to make this function successful respectively. Prominent among those present in the function were Bodh Raj Sharma, Sher Mohammad, Bodh Raj( Ex-Sarpanch), Sardar Avtaar Singh, Mohammad Hussain, Mool Raj,Bhawanii Singh, Mohammad Sharief, Thakur Bachiter Singh, Om Parkash, Ram Singh,Krishan Sharma, Prithvi Raj,Ram Saran, Raj Kumar Bhagia and others. The 62nd Republic Day was widely celebrated across the region with enthusiasm and patriotic fevour. Helpline Humanity organized a function on the occasion of Republic Day . Munoo Krishan, a well known social activist was the chief guest who hoisted the tricolor. The GERI Coaching Institute, a unit of Pt R.N Kaul Memorial Trust also celebrated the day with patriotic fervour. Students from various schools presented colorful cultural items. Later, the prizes and sweets were also distributed among the participants. Satish Kaul and Avtar Krishan , M.K Bhat president Helpline Humanity Omesh Raina coordinator and Rakes Bhat Vice President and Surinder Bhat Chairman was the Special Guests. Republic Day celebrations were held in the premises of Red Cross Bhawan with great enthusiasm and patriotic zeal . On the auspious occasion National Flag was unfurled by Jugal Mahajan - veteran Red Crosser/ Social Worker in presence of F eroz Ahmed Khan - Hony. General Secretary, Indian Red Cros Society State Branch, Sl.1resh Sharma¬Hony. Executive Secretary, Distt. Red Cross Society, Jammu, Volunteers and staff members of Red Cross Society. Addressing the gathering, Mahajan and Suresh Sharma advocated on different aspects of Red Cross Society and pledged to provide all sorts of help to every sufferer / needy persons at their door steps . Blankets were distributed among the deserving persons. The function came to conclusion with distribution of sweets and light refreshment among the participants. Tricolour was also hosted at Jandrah and Dansal Blocks Head Quarters. The main function was held at Jandrah at 10 a.m. by the Principal Hr. Sec. School Jandrah where more than 500 people gathered. At Dansal Block, Anil Sharma and Members of JJJKDC hoisted the flag. The Chairman of the Committee , Sharma and the Principal highlighted the importance of the day at their respective Blocks. Those who attend among others were Karan Dutt Sharma, Headmaster Raj inder Singh, Bhikam Singh, Haji Rafiq, Nb. Sub. Devi Dass, Cap. Rajinder Singh, Chador MolrSharma, Datta Ram Sharma, Sadhu Singh, Ch. Faji, Ch. Mian. The 62nd Republic Day was celebrated at University of Jammu with great enthusiasm & patriotic fervor. Prof Varun Sahni, Vice Chancellor, unfurled that National Flag at Fountain Plaza and released the Tri Colour Balloons while Sylvia A Sahni was the Guest of Honour on this occasion. Prof Sahni in his address said that India got freedom from the yoke of the Britishers after a long struggle and supreme sacrifices of our patriots. The Constitution of India was farmed by a Committee, especially Constituted for the purpose and finally the same came in to force on 26th of January 1950 and India became a Republic State. Paying tributes to the Martyrs, he also recited a couplet from Maithilisharan’ ki Raksha Hetuhu Jis Path Veer Anek’ B. V P- Jammu East celebrated "Republic Day" in the premises or Bal Niketan, Ambphalla. Jammu. Tricolor was hoisted jointly by the office bearers of B. V. P & Ved Mandir Committee. On this occasion, a cultural programme was conducted by Gopal Shanna (President, RV,P Jammu East in which orphan student of Bal Niketan presented their different items showing their talent. Prominent along those who were present & spoke on this occasion were Sh, lnder Parkash Sharma, Rakesh Gupta, K. K. Mengi. Kuldeep Gupta, Chawla and Sh. Sanjay Gupta. Biscuits and Sweets were distributed among all the children. The function concluded with National Anthem. The 62nd Republic Day was celebrated by the office of the Executive Director (Region-I), NHPC Limited, Jammu at NHPC Regional Office Complex at Narwal with great pomp & show. A large number of employees and CISF personnel participated. On this occasion, Jatinder Singh hoisted the tricolor. Speaking on the occasion, Singh wished happy Republic Day to all the employees and advised them to set their goals for the year-20ll for achieving progress and prosperity for NHPC. Speaking bout NHPC, Singh said that the work on 2100 MW Projects at Kishtwar by Joint Venture Corporation shah begin shortly and the employees of NHPC in J&K State shall have to work hard with dedication for timely commissioning of these projects. Sh. Singh hoped that 06 Projects of NHPC shall come up by the end of this' year which calls for even higher levels of motivation} dedication and commitment. The function concluded with distribution of sweets amongst the employees. Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor in the remises of Gandhi Memorial College of Education Raipur Bantlab Jammu. Sanjay Dhar, Officiating General Secretary, Hindu Education Society Kashmir (Regd) hoisted the National Flag. On the occasion different colourful items were presented by the students of Gandhi Memorial College of Education Raipur Bantlab Jammu which included dances, Patriotic songs and speeches. The programme was attended by esteemed members of Executive Body (HESK), Principal Staff and students of GMCEJ. Dati Todi Memorial Convent School Ratnal , Bishnah today celebrated Republic day with fervor Principal of the school Sunita Bangotra unfurled the national flag in the school premises She in her address threw light on the importance of the Republic Day and remembered Dr BR Ambedkar , the architect of Indian Constitution.
