| Annual sports day celebrated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU Jan 27: Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School celebrated its annual sports day with patriotic fervour and gaiety. The event marked the festivity of Republic Day celebrations and the whole ambience infused the spirit of nationality and integrity. S.A Laharwal, Director General, Youth Services and Sports was the chief guest on the occasion.
The panel of judges comprised of Col. Parveen Mathur, 626 EME Battalion, Lt Col. Bipion Chandra, 16 Corps, Operations Signal Regiment and Lt. Col. Gaurav Kapoor, Eye Dept 166 MH. The function commenced with the welcome speech by the Head Girl, Vibhuti Narania and the presentation of bamboo shoots to the guests as a symbol of fortune, peace an goodwill. It was followed by flag hoisting and the inspection of squads by the Chief Guest and the Principal, Sr Rosamma after which they lighted the torch and declared the sports meet open. The children enthralled the audience through various drills, races, gymnastics, dances etc and the whole atmosphere resonated with exuberance.
