Sharnarthi Front expresses satisfaction over CM’s statement on refugees
11/9/2006 11:00:21 PM

JAMMU | NOV 9
The president of Jammu and Kashmir Sharnarthi Front (SF) Ram Prakash, has expressed his satisfaction over the statement of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, where in he said that his Government was seriously considering the settlement of all categories of refugees, in the state.
Sharma, expressed his happiness that the chief minister, was considering to induct the refugee’s representatives, in the working groups, so as to provide them necessary opportunities to pace their grievances and seek redressal of the same. The Sharnarthi leader, however, expressed his apprehensions, that with already entrusted with wide ranging agenda, these groups, may to fail on their part, to spare adequate time required for discussion and in finding out permanent resolution of the refugee’s problems. Whether they are POK DPs, or for that matter refugees form West Pakistan or still more the militancy affected Kashmir and Jammu Division migrants, each has its own specific problem, which need threadbare round table discussion, to arrive at permanent and dignified settlement, if the CM is keen to settle all the outstanding problems of refugees, he should consider forming of one more working groups, exclusively for refugees alone, Sharma remarked.
While referring to the recently to the recently floated “Refugees United Front” Sharma said that it is devoid of popular support as is apparent from the very fact that many bonafied Refugee Organizations are conspicuous by their absence, in the said front, in absence of which neither it can claim itself to be having representative character, nor can its succeed its mission. He advised the United Front leaders, to make further efforts to rope in the support of each and every Forum group of refugees, before starting sustained struggle against the apathetic and indifferent attitude of state and centre governments.
