Education pivotal to develop remotest areas: Shabir

JAMMU, JAN 28: Saying that education is effective means for transformation of socio- economic condition of people living in hilly and inaccessible areas, the Minister of State for Power and CA&PD, Shabir Ahmad Khan said that the government endeavors to upgrade quality and vocational educational facilities in such areas by implementing various Centre and State schemes.
Interacting with deputations of various areas of the State, who met the Minister for redressing their developmental needs and day to day problems here today, the Minister said that strenuous efforts is being made to improve the basic necessities in remotest areas for economic development of the people.
Assuring the deputationists of Ghambir Mughlian, Hattasari and Gohra villages of Rajouri, the Minister said that opening of primary schools under RMSA at village Gohra, Mohalian and Kalaya Khatta is under active consideration of the Government, adding, upgradation of Middle School, Hattasari, to the level of High School would be taken up with the education ministry on priority.
Shabir said that in order to provide nutrition and basic education to the tiny tots and pregnant mothers, hundreds of more Anganwari Centres have been established in rural areas with focused attention to the hilly and inaccessible areas. He said that the demand for establishment of Anganwari centres in villages Gambir Mughlian (A) Gohra, Mohalian and Kalaya Khatta would also be redressed from concerned ministry.
Responding to the demands of the people of Manjakote Block, the Minister said that due consideration would be given for all round development of the Block, adding that opening of Sub Health Centre at Manda, construction of road from Ghambir Galli to Chatroo, bridge over nalla Ghambir Mughlian besides construction of lanes and drains in Bawoli and Manda villages would be taken up with concerned departments.
