Follow path of freedom fighters: Dy CM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JAN 28 – Saluting the sacrifice of freedom fighters, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today said great leaders laid down their lives fighting against British oppression and envisioned India as an independent, secular and strong Nation. “Real tribute to the leaders is to follow the path shown by them and to contribute our bit towards nation building,” he added. The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing an impressive function organized in connection with 62nd Republic Day celebrations at Government Higher Secondary School, Khour. Throwing light on importance of the day, Tara Chand said it marks the beginning of a new era in the history of independent India, as on this day the Constitution of India came into force. The constitution enshrined the ideals for which towering leaders had fought and ensured equality and liberty to all citizens, he added. Tara Chand called upon students to follow the path of commitment towards Nation, as shown by great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru, Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and other great leaders of country. A colorful cultural programme was also presented by school children, which was appreciated by the gathering on the occasion.
