Two Congress rallies: Testing time for those playing double | | | SHAFIQ MIR EARLY TIMES REPORT Rajouri, Jan 29: Two Congress rallies being organized by two warring groups in the state of Jammu and Kashmir on 30th of January in state's winter capital are being seen as a testing time for those who have been playing double with both the groups in the past two and half years at least. And these rallies are likely to decide their fate of power in future. The state congress unit in Jammu and Kashmir was divided soon after Prof. Saif-U-Din Soz was appointed as PCC chief in 2008 by the party high command and the situation remained same during his past two and half year tenure. One group was led by Soz while the other group came openly with former Chief Minister and present Union health minister Gulam Nabi Azad. Though most of the people who later changed their loyalties, were earlier known as right hands of Azad in Jammu and Kashmir. And they also reached at the heights of power because of Azad's blessings. However, there were some who kept both Azad and Soz in dark by playing double. Of them, two are enjoying MOS status in the present state regime. As per sources, if they had breakfast at the residence of PCC Chief Prof. Saif ud-Din Soz, on the same day they used to reach at Delhi to whisper their loyalty with Ghulam Nabi Azad. With this tactic, they tried their best to keep the both in good humor. In fact, they were politically so week and gentle that they could not judge who is powerful among them. There fore, they used to play safe by keeping the equidistance and showing loyalty to both the leaders. Analysts say, both these state level MOS's are in trouble now, how to come open on 30th of January when both Azad and Soz have decided to Organize separate public rallies at Jammu with an aim to prove the political strength and show that who among them enjoys much support of state congress cadres. And now they will have to chose the one side either Azad or Soz. In this situation, if they picked a wrong card they can lose the game of power in future as the cabinet reshuffle is also on cards. Political analysts is of the opinion that these rallies will also decide the political fate of Azad and Soz in the state of Jammu and Kashmir along with their lobbies. |
