BJP advocates free flow of Indian constitution in JK
1/30/2011 9:50:02 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 30: Advocating for free-flow of the Indian Constitution in Jammu and Kashmir like other parts of the country, the leader of the BJP Legislature Party, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has termed the report of the Justice Sageer Committee as highly controversial and said that taking little lessons from their follies of the past, the leadership of the Congress still continue to fiddle with the basic problems in this sensitive State.
Commenting upon the formation of the Cabinet Sub-Committee by the State Government to examine the recommendations of the Justice Sageer Group, Prof. Gupta said that because of lack of vision at the Centre, the State Govt headed by National Conference is trying to unsettle the already settled issues, and Congress being devoid of national outlook, is playing the role of a ‘B-team’ in the State Coalition. Stressing for full application of the Indian Constitution to this
State also like other parts of the country, the BJP leader asserted that the so-called special status of Jammu and Kashmir has harmed the national interests as it has bred secessionism, terrorism as also the slogans of plebiscite, Azadi, Autonomy and even that of self rule. If the Indian Constitution can be useful for over 120 crores of other people including several crores of Muslims, how it can be harmful form some lakhs of Kashmiris, he questioned and said that if there is some thing to their unlinking, they can work with other people of the country instead of breeding secessionism.
He alleged the separate status is being used for blackmailing the country and discouraging nationalism through despotic methods. The people willing to join the mainstream are being pushed to the wall.
This must be changed with a firm handling of the situation.
