| Kathua becoming hub of black-marketing | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua Jan 30: The food and supply department has totally failed in Kathua to provide the ration to the deserving and needy people.
While the politicians, some officers and few influential people are directly provided the essential commodities like flour, sugar etc at their door step by the departments, the food and supply department has become anarchist department in the Kathua as the concerned officers and dealers are openly involved in black-marketing of the ration of these poor people.
With the town’s PDS system being defunct the villages are the most affected people due to the corrupt practices of the concerned department.
Though a a dealer was apprehended by the Anti Corruption Society and produced before DC Kathua who assured strong action taken against the culprit but it is very unfortunate that no action against the corrupt dealer has been taken so far.
The Vice President of the Saviour of Innocent Labour (SOIL) NGO Rampaul Sharma said that Food and Supply department has become the centre of black-marketing of the food and kerosene oil items which are directly sold to the factories of kathua by their dealers and the district administration is watching all this loot like a mute spectator.
He alleged that the politicians of the Kathua have taken the kerosene supply license but they do not distribute to the concerned consumers as they are directly black marketing the oil to the factories which is an illegal, corrupt and anti people act of these politician license holders.
It was urged to the DC Kathua to intervene personally to investigate major smuggling of food and kerosene oil which is happening with the collaboration of food and supply department.
He said that the common man is suffering due the shortage of flour, sugar, and kerosene oil, but he cannot afford to purchase these essential daily required commodities from the private shop due to the inflating price rise.
“He has only the cheap and best option in government PDS system but their share is being smuggled by some employees of the concerned department and politicians by becoming as dealers,” said Rampaul
