| Man held in wife's mysterious death | | | JAMMU: While a Board of Doctors today conducted post-mortem on the body of the woman, who had Saturday died under mysterious circumstances at her Bhagwati Nagar residence here, police took into custody her husband.
Santosh Kumari was found hanging from the ceiling fan hook in her house at Bhagwati Nagar yesterday.
The hospital authorities constituted a board of senior doctors to conduct post-mortem on the body after her parents alleged that she had been tortured to death by husband Suresh Kumar.
Their daughter Shameeli also alleged that her father used to beat her mother almost every day.
Following these allegations, police apprehended Suresh and his nephew for questioning.
After the post-mortem was over, the body was taken by her parents to Bishnah and cremated there.
Police had already registered a case in this connection.
