Oil, Gas conservation fortnight-2011 concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 31: Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Omar Ali Akhoon has underscored need for launching sustained campaign to create awareness among masses about the need for saving of oil and gas to ease economy of the nation from a huge burden. Minister was speaking at the valedictory function of Oil & Gas conservation Fortnight-2011 organized by oil & gas industry here today. Fortnight started on January 15 during which series of activities were organized to aware the people, particularly young generation about the importance of the conservation of petroleum products. State Level coordinator Vikas Behal also spoke on the occasion and threw light on importance of conservation of petroleum products. Later, Minister distributed prize of Rs.30,000 to Maliha Batool, BA 2nd year of Government Degree collage Doda and Rs. 25000 to Deepika Pandita 12th class of SOS school bagging 1st and 2nd positions in the national level essay competition held on the subject.
