PIB playing vital role in empowering masses across J&K | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 31: Three day Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign, being organised by Press Information Bureau Jammu will be inaugurated on February 03, 2011, at Kehli Mandi in Samba. This information was given by Assistant Director PIB Srinagar Ghulam Abbas and Media and Communication Officer Sunil Koul while addressing a press conference at Press Club Jammu today. Officers said that PIB has organized over 400 Public Information Campaigns (PICs) throughout India from 2006 till date. Over hundred such PICs have been proposed during 2010-11 financial year, in different parts of the country and is organizing 17th such campaign in the state at Samba. Officers apprised the media that Press Information Bureau is playing a vital role in empowering the masses at grass root level by disseminating information about Bharat Nirman Flagship Programmes through Public Information Campaigns adding that the preparations for the 17th campaign at Samba aimed to make aware the common people about Centrally sponsored flagship programmes and Bharat Nirman rural development package are in the final stage. They said that campaign would cover flagship programmes of UPA Govt., which include Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), National Rural Health Mission, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Mid-day Meal Scheme, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme, Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), PM’s New 15 Point Programme for the Welfare of Minorities, RTI Act and other centrally sponsored schemes. Addressing the press conference on the occasion Field Publicity officer V K Magotra said that the pre-PIC activities are underway in the district in which DFP and Song & Drama Division, Govt of India, have slated several awareness programmes in different areas of district Samba.
