Niaz concludes 4-day tour of remote areas

Former Minister and senior Congress leader Mohammed Sharief Niaz concluded his second phase of four- day tour of far flung areas of the district and addressed a series of public meetings at Gulabgarh, Machhail, Paddar, Bhalessla,Gandoh and Bhaderwah highlighting the achievements of Azad led coalition government in the state.
He said that Azad during his just one year rule has taken several revolutionary and historical steps, waged war against corruption, introduced anti-defection law and improved the work culture apart from taking up developmental works in double shifts. These measures, he said, have yielded positive results and benefits have started percolating at the grass roots level. For promotion of tourisms and horticulture, a number of steps have been taken while the law and order situation has shown a discernable change, he remarked.
Referring to creation of new districts, sub-districts and tehsils, the senior Congress leader said that this decision would definitely go in a long way to make Jammu and Kashmir a ‘Khushal State’.
During his visit to Gulabgarh-Machhail, the people demanded immediate construction of Gulabgarh road, which has already been approved by the Chief Minister, execution of 240MW Karthie Power Project, Hanswar Mini Project, Lower Kalnaie Project and Nachlana mini hydro projects by which the tenders were floated a year before. The Congress leader assured that their genuine demands would be taken up with the Chief Minister for early redressal.
While addressing a public meeting Niaz urged the government to take up construction work on Thathri-Kilhotran , Sartingal-Sharakhee roads on priority as people of these areas were facing of lot of inconvenience. He appealed the people to maintain peace and communal harmony and strengthen the hands of Chief Minister for carrying forward the mission of making Jammu and Kashmir a ‘Khushal State’.
Those who addressed these meetings included Nek Ram, Block President Paddar, Mohammed Ramzan Rather, General Secretary, DCC Doda, Om Prakash Parihar Block President Bhalessa, Haji Shah Din Naik Senior Vice President BCC Bhalessa, Shabir Ahmed Khan Block President BCC Bhaderwah and Neel Kanth Parihar a senior Congress leader.
