BGSBU teaching asstt, JK Bank employee held with charas | | | JAMMU: A teaching assistant in the engineering wing of Baba Ghulam Shah Budshah University (BGSBU) and a J&K Bank employee were today arrested by police in Rajouri for possessing over six kilograms of charas. The accused -- Shakur Ahmad, son of Bagh Hussain, and Farooq Ahmad, son of Mohammad Iqbal -- hail from Rajouri. While Shakur is a teaching assistant in BGSBU, Farooq was an assistant in BGSBU branch of J&K Bank, police sources said. Acting on a tip-off, a police party intercepted their Santro car (JK03/7722) on Sailani bridge in Rajouri. The car's search led cops to the recovery of a metallic box which contained 6 kg charas, the sources added, saying 400 gms poppy straw was also recovered from the vehicle. To avoid its detection by police, the metallic box had been welded with the chassis of the car. The Rajouri police had registered a case against them. |
