J&K interlocutors likely to call on separatists | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 1: Interlocutors appointed by central government are likely to renew their efforts for having a session or two with senior leaders of the two factions of Hurriyat Conference. Reports said that the three interlocutors, Daleep Padgaonkar, Radha Kumar and M.M.Ansari are keen to have a dialogue with senior separatist leaders before they frame final recommendations on the conflict resolution in Jammu and Kashmir. Interlocutors have decided to visit Jammu and Kashmir once again before they submit final report to Union Home Minister P.Chidambaram on February 20. According to these reports, Interlocutors had tried, more than once, to have an exchange of views with the separatists but every time they refused. Radha Kumar said that she rang up some of the separatists but they had refused to meet her citing situation across Kashmir valley. In the context of these developments, interlocutors have decided to make a final attempt at meeting the separatists so that they could frame final reports after talking to the separatists. Though the final report is yet to be tabulated, insiders maintain that interlocutors have recommended release of detained people, withdrawal of troops in a phased manner and keeping those areas and districts, where the security scenario has remained stable and peaceful, out of the jurisdiction of the AFSPA.
