| MIER group celebrates platinum jubilee | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 1: To commemorate completion of 75 glorious years of dedicated service in the field of education, Model Institute of Education and Research (MIER) organized a Havan Yagya at its B.C Road campus today.
In a press note issued here today, it has been stated that management and faculty of all the group institutes of MIER joined together to seek blessings of almighty and honor founders Late Professor H.L. Gupta and Shanti Gupta. MIER group was conceived as ‘Model Academy’, first private co-educational school in pre-independence Jammu and Kashmir in the year 1936 with just two students.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Arun.K.Gupta, Chairman MIER group of institutions fondly recounted the immensely satisfying yet challenging journey in growing the institution organically from a school to a respected center of higher learning and research. Earlier in the day sweets were distributed among students of the school, college of education and engineering college. Lunch was also served to the staff members of the entire institution. Institute has drawn up an elaborate plan to celebrate Platinum Jubilee year in a befitting manner, which would culminate in February 2012.
