JAMMU, Feb 1: Jammu-Poonch national highway was blocked for vehicular traffic by locals and children after they resorted to protest demonstration over alleged encroachment of a school ground by a politician in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Over 400 villagers, including school children, blockedthe Jammu-Poonch highway at Sangla area in Mendhar border tehsil of Poonch district and held protest demonstrations, officials said today. They resorted to protest demonstrations over alleged encroachment of the school ground by a politician and construction of shed there, they said without naming the leader.
Protestors demanded removal of the encroachment and registration of case against the leader, they said, adding senior officials of district have been rushed to the spot.
