EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 1: Gulchain Singh Chib clinched gold medal in 69 kg weight category in the one-day Jammu District Boxing Championship, organised by J&K Amateur Boxing Association at MA Stadium, here today. Second place in this weight group went to fighting Vinay Gurang while Shivankar Rathore and Amit Sharma shared third place. In all, 50 male pugilists contested in this day-long championship in two age groups of sub-junior and senior. While in senior category ten different weights were decided, the sub-junior category had only three weights of 35 kg, 48 kg and 60 kg. Earlier, the championship was declared open by general secretary of J&K Amateur Boxing Association, Dr Nirmolak Singh. The Detailed Results: SENIOR BOYS: 48 kg: Rajnish Sharma, Ist; Raj Kumar, 2nd; Rakshak Gupta and Rohit Attri, joint 3rd. 52 kg: Pardeep Sharma, Ist; Saleem Khan, silver; Gourav and Ramandeep Singh, joint 3rd. 56 kg: Vinay Kumar, Ist and Nishal Dalmotra, 2nd. 60 kg: Rohit Kumar, Ist; Prem Prasad, 2nd and Vineet Kumar, 3rd. 64 kg: Abhimanyu Bali, Ist; Arun Samotra, 2nd; Ashish Chalotra and Satpal, joint 3rd. 69 kg: Gulchain Singh Chib, Ist; Vijay Gurang, 2nd; Shivankar Rathore and Amit Sharma, joint 3rd.
