2/1/2011 9:51:46 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 1: Channi Himmat Residents Association (CHRA) has expressed anguish over failure of Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board and the administration in getting its own land vacated and raising green belt park as promised in its initial colony plan and give to the residents a clean and pollution free environment
In a handout issued here today, it has been said that a meeting of the executive committee of Channi Himmat Residents Association (Regd) was held under the chairmanship of its President Advocate V.K.Grover in which situation arising out of disruption caused in anti encroachment drive of Green Belt and its restoration launched by J&K Housing Board and various state government authorities recently was discussed.
Members further expressed distress over non-fulfillment of repeated promises made to the association in various meetings held with J&K Housing Board authorities and district administration from time to time. Even the assurance given in this respect by the member parliament Madan Lal Sharma and the Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Raman Bhalla in their felicitation function organized by this association in September 2009 has not been meted out.
Association reiterated its stand and appealed J&K Housing Board and the state administration to immediately start work on restoration of Green Belt Park on the land got vacated recently and make sincere efforts to legally acquire any piece of land which has not so far been acquired and which is subject matter of dispute with third parties. Only timely action in this mater shall deter the encroachers from recapturing the vacated land.
