Workshop on ‘Gandhi’s vision of an independent India’ held

Jammu, Feb1: The Gandhian Studies Center of Govt. M.A.M College organized an inter – collegiate one-day workshop on the topic ‘Gandhi’s vision of an independent India’. Prof N.K Tripathi, Dean students’ welfare, university of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion. He deliberated on the necessity of the applicability of the Gandhi philosophy in the present scenario. Dr. Ajeet Angral principal of the college in his formal address implored the students to imbibe Gandhian principal in letter and spirit and lauded the efforts of the Gandhian studies centre for organizing such a meaningful programme. The workshop was conducted in three sessions.
The panel of experts who made candid observations included, Babar Afzal, Pradeep Dutta and Ranjeet Kalra. The sessions were chaired by Prof. Kiran Bakshi Prof. Vijay Luxmi, Prof. Vijay Kotwal and Prof. Rita Munshi, Dr. Twinkle Suri, director Gandhi studies centre delivered the key note address, in which she dwelt at length about the Gandhian gospels for building a just, human and peaceful world order. Sonika Sharma and Bindu were the rappoteurs for the workshop. The group leaders of the three sessions namely Abhinandar Singh, Sanjeet Bhagat and Nighat Quereshi, summed up the deliberations of the sessions. The programme was anchored by Prof. Shallini, Neetu and Prof. Manpreet Kour , co-ordinator of the workshop, conducted the proceeding . The formal vote of thanks was given by Dr. Twinkle Suri Director Gandhi studies centre.
