| Special Lok-Adalat held at District Court Complex, hundreds of cases settled | | | JAMMU Nov, 09- ON the eve of National Legal Services Day a special Lok Adalat was held at District Court Complex Janipur here today under the Chairmanship of Mr. Subhash Chander Gupta, Principal District & Sessions Judge Jammu, who is also Chairman of District Legal Services Authority. Over 538 cases were settled on the spot and compensation awarded to the complainants.
For settlement of cases six Benches were constituted. Bench No 1 was headed by Mr. Subhash Chander Gupta Chairman District Legal Services Authority and Principal District & Sessions Judge and assisted by Mr. Hari Om Singh Additional District Judge Bank Cases to deal with Matrimonial and MACT cases. The Bench took up 10 cases of Matrimonial and decided and settled six cases. Fifteen cases of MACT were taken-up in which 13 cases were settled and Rs 8, 82,000 awarded as compensation to the claimants.
Bench No 2 headed by Mr. Sanjay Dhar CJM Jammu took up 383 cases of special Traffic Mobile Magistrate’s Court Jammu and settled 250 cases besides realizing a fine of Rs 34000. Bench No 3 headed by Mr. RK Wattal Sub-Judge Jammu took up 214 cases of Municipal Court and settled 63 cases and realized Rs 15500/-as fine
Bench No 4, which was headed by Mr. Inder Singh Special Excise Mobile Magistrate Jammu settled 35 cases out of 98 cases taken up of Passenger Tax court and realized a fine of Rs 14900.Bench No 5 was headed Mr. Sanjay Parihar Special Municipal Mobile Magistrate Jammu to deal with Additional Traffic Court cases. This Bench took up 300 cases and settled 154 cases and realized a fine of Rs 17050.
Bench No 6 presided by Mr. Madan Lal Special Passenger Tax Mobile Magistrate Jammu took up 24 cases under Cr PC/RPC and settled 17 cases in which Rs 17,900/- was realized as fine.
