| Kashmir problem is of uncontested communalism: PK | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb 2: Raising suspicion over the appointment of interlocutors in the state, Panun Kashmir has said that appointment in fact has been decision taken by GOI in continuity to push forward an agreement reached between India and Pakistan, recognized as ‘Musharraf Formula”.
Addressing press conference here today, the speaker on the occasion Ajay Chrungoo said,” We don’t feel hopeful that they have been appointed to retrieve the situation in the state, combat effectively and resolutely the pernicious separatist movement and undo the damage done to the national interests”.
For years Government of India has pursued a course of trying to contain or curtail communalism and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir by pampering and promoting variants of communalism and separatism rather than investing in secular national building the Panun Kashmir chairman observed.
Furtehr demanding that GOI must stop calling the problem in Kashmir as ‘Political One’ Chrungoo said that the problem in Kashmir is neither constitutional nor political and economic. “It is basically problem of uncontested communalism”, he said.
Panun Kashmir’s views on Jammu and Kashmir’s prevalent situation were equally endorsed by senior Congress leader Hari Om who shared the dais with Chrungoo.
Hari Om said,” This approach has proved to be a process of gradual self-annihilation. This policy perspective has made all patriotic people in the state, particularly the Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists as guinea pigs to be sacrificed”.
Urging the government of India to realize that retrieval of situation in the state does not lie in cohabiting and traversing the path of separatism and acceding to communal forces, the speakers observed, “The real retrieval lies in the deligitimisation of all variants of separatism in the state as also exposing their regressive content”.
The called upon the GOI to unambiguously reject the “Musharraf Plan’ for the state without delay since they feel that it has become quite imperative because Pakistani leadership has claimed many times in the recent past that ‘Musharraf Plan’ had almost become the basis of an agreement between India and Pakistan on jammu and Kashmir which was just a few notches away from a formal endorsement
