Jammu, Feb 2: Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, conducted the Creative Dance (Solo) Competition at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu here today.
On the second day of the Inter-Collegiate/Departmental Display Your Talent 2010-11, Vandana from Department of Sociology, University of Jammu, bagged the first prize whereas Paveet Kour and Poonam Kumari, both from the Govt. Women College, Parade, were considered as second and third, respectively.
The themes of dance were global warming, say no to drugs, Nari Shakti, Ganga and Bhagirath, Love and Suicide etc.
Advocate Anuradha Seth Kohli, Mitali Gupta and Aarti Mehta Mahajan were the jury for the contest. The judgment of judges was based on the qualities like Tal, Technique, Rhythm, Innovation, Acting and Expression, Costumes, Footwork, general impression etc.
Prof N.K. Tripathi, (Dean Students Welfare) distributed the prizes amongst the winners.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Dr. Ritu Mahajan, Dr. Namrata Sharma, Vijay Atri, Vinay Thusoo, Public Relations Officer, Gagandeep Sharma, Secretary, Students Cultural Council, Shafali Gupta, Sarang Vaid and Madhvi Sharma besides other.
