Teachers threatens to launch agitation on demands

Jammu, Feb 2: All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) today warned the government that if their demands which include the release of arrears under 6th Pay Commission are not implemented, they would launch a agitation.
Addressing a press conference, president of the federation Balwan Singh Jamwal, alleged that government was provoking the teachers who are demanding their just rights which even the administration has accepted.
“Administration should not play with the sentiments of the employees and should immediately release Sixth Pay Commission arrears in two equal installments and fulfill the other agreed demands”, Jamwal demanded.
Jamwal said that government had assured regularization of all cadres of education department working in their own pay and grade from the date of their promotion, timely release of salary grants, formation of strict transform norms, and immediately cancellation of all attachments. “ But all these demands have been ignored by the administration which is betrayal of the trust of the workers who are working in difficult and far-flung areas of the Jammu and Kashmir”, he said.
Forum has demanded that all the vacant posts in education department should be filled with immediate effect to streamline the education system. “Some forces are working against the unity of teachers community for their personal gain and are bent upon to to divide the movement which has to be resisted at all the costs”, Jamwal alleged.
He said that while government has invested in infrastructure development of the schools but the basic needs of the teachers have been ignored by the respective departments, which has affected the over all performance of the students enrolled in the institutions.
On the occasion, he also announced the election committee with the consent of central working committee members which will mobilize the teaching community and conduct the tour of different districts for making election programme a grand success.
Members of the election committee includes Manga Ram Sharma, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Ram Pal Sharma, Kewal Krishan Sharma, Som Nath Banathia, Sudershan Sharma, Chaman Lal Sharma, Joginder Singh Manhas, Jai Singh, Joginder Singh, Ajit Singh, Rajinder Singh, Subash Chander Sharma, Indeerjeet Gupta, Babu Ram Padiar, Daljeet Singh, Naresh Choudhary, Daljeet Singh Manhas, Yaseen Ahmed and Hardip Singh.
Other present in the press conference were Pawan Gupta, Rajinder Sharma, Shamsher Singh, Mohan Lal, Manjeet Singh and others.
