Fresh snowfall in upper reaches in Kashmir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Feb 3 : The upper reaches in the Kashmir valley experienced a fresh snowfall as Western Disturbance (WD) hit the region, where there was considerable improvement in the minimum temperature but the day today became cold due to icy cold winds and cloudy sky. The frontier district of Kupwara with minus 4 degrees was coldest in the Valley while border town of Kargil recording minus 12 was coldest in the Ladakh region, which remained cut off due to closure of the Srinagar-Leh Highway. Fresh snowfall was experienced at Gulmarg, the world famous ski resort in north Kashmir. A Met department official said after a considerable improvement in the temperature, there was fresh snowfall on the slopes, which are already under two to three feet of snow. The Affarwat, Khilanmarg and seven springs experienced heavy snowfall since this morning.The other upper reaches in the north Kashmir also experienced fresh snowfall.
