Better traffic regulation must for Jammu city | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 3: Advisor to Chief Minister Mubarak Gul has stressed upon the law enforcement agencies to take steps to avoid frequent traffic jams in Jammu city and ensure smooth and safe plying of transport on the city roads. Advisor was chairing a high level meeting here today convened to review traffic regulation system in the winter capital. Gul said that it is the matter of deep concern that precious time of commuters, especially school goers, patients and employees is wasted as they did not reach to their destination well in time because of frequent jams. He called upon the transporters and traffic regulatory agencies to take every possible step to avoid chaos and snarl on the city roads. Inspector General of Police Traffic sought coordination of PWD, Jammu Municipal Corporation and Housing Department besides providing of additional manpower to man the heavy rush of traffic in Jammu. Commissioner/Secretary Transport Pardeep Kumar, Transport Commissioner, Dr. S. M. Fazlullah, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sanjev Verma, Additional Commissioner, Jammu, R. K. Bhagat, SP Traffic, Jammu, Z. N. Manhas, Deputy Transport Commissioner, Bhawesh Verma, RTO Jammu, Varinder Slathia, besides Special Secretaries of Home and GAD and Director (T) Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) attended the meeting.
