| Akhoon reviews construction of Kargil hostel | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 3: Minister for Consumer Affair and Public Distribution (CA&PD) Qamar Ali Akhoon today visited Channi Rama and inspected pace of progress on under construction Kargil Hostel for boys, to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 7 crore.
Minister was accompanied by MLA Zanskar Feroz Ahmad Khan, MLC, Aga Syed Ahmad Rizvi and Superintending Engineer, R&B Kargil Division J.R Dogra. During the inspection, Minister was informed that the construction of hostel was started in September, 2009 and so far 80 percent of the work has been completed involving an expenditure of Rs. 3.20 crore.
He was told that 4 storey hostel building will have 78 rooms with a kitchen, dining and meeting hall, besides basement and parking facilities. The hostel would have a capacity to accommodate 220 students.
