Excise strike enters 10th day

JAMMU | JULY 28
Strike of J&K Excise and Commercial Tax, Class- IV employees entered 10th day today. As a protest demonstration in front of Divisional Commissioner’s office was held by the employees.
While addressing the employees leaders of the union expressed their utter –surprise that on the one hand government has decided to handover the almost 40,000 appointments of all Class –IV employees who were appointed after 1996 till date, to a house committee, but on the other hand government has not referred the case to the committee till date.
Meanwhile, union leaders said that, this behaviour of state government will render 500 employees jobless, and added that government has no concern for general public of the state. The leaders also disclosed that they have requested the President o India to give direction to the State Govt. to solve their problems striking employees submitted charter of demands to Div. Commissioner, Jammu The union submitted their charter to Divisional Commissioner.
As per decision of executive body, strike will continue till govt. meet at their demands.
