Dy CM for early digitization of municipalities, urban local bodies | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 3: Describing JNNURM as a flagship programme, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said that under the centrally sponsored mission various development projects have been launched in the state to equip all towns of the state with modern day urban infrastructure. Tara Chand said this while chairing a high level review meeting of Housing and Urban Development Department, here today. Meeting took a detailed review of various institution and development reforms which have been undertaken under Jawahar Lal Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). Underscoring the need for comprehensive reforms, the Deputy Chief Minister said that various reforms under JNNURM need to be incorporated in a fixed time schedule, so as to ensure timely fund flow and completion of the projects in a time bound manner. Tara Chand said urban development is an integral part of overall development agenda of the government. Underlining the importance of e-governance, the Deputy Chief Minister said besides simplifying procedures, it also promotes transparency in the administration. He called upon the concerned to ensure complete digitization in Municipalities and Urban Local Bodies. “Time has come when our Municipal bodies should go fully online and offering web based services,” he said.
