| EC for equitable distribution of hand pumps | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 3: Estimates Committee (EC) of Legislative Assembly today called for equitable distribution of funds and installation of hand pumps to different areas of the state.
Committee asked the officers of PHE department to ensure all defunct hand pumps are made functional within one and half month. Committee which met today under the chairmanship of MLA Hareshdev Singh here discussed various issues pertaining to PHE and Irrigation departments.
Committee suggested for early release of compensation and employment to those land owners whose land has been acquired by the department. Committee asked the concerned to regularize the daily rated workers upto 2005 so that genuine people are not left over.
Legislators, Mohammad Yaseen Shah, Abdul Majid Wani, Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Rafi Ahmad Mir, Feroz Ahmad Khan, Ch. Zulfikar Ali, Peer Afaaq Ahmad, Durga Dass, Javeed Ahmad Raina and Murtaza Ahmad Khan gave their valuable suggestions for the improvement of the implementation of developmental and welfare schemes on ground.
