| State boxing championship gets underway | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 03: Chander Dev Singh and Ankit Singh won 34-38 kg and 41-44 kg events respectively in sub-junior boys category in the two-day State Boxing Championship, organised by J&K Amateur Boxing Association at MA Stadium, here today.
Except for 50-55 kg weight category, all other five weights were decided in sub-junior group today. On the other hand, in senior boys’ competition, semi-finals were played today. The finals and prize distribution function shall take place tomorrow.
Earlier, the competition was declared open by general secretary of J&K Olympic Association, Ashutosh Sharma.

SUB-JUNIOR: 34-38 kg: Chander Dev Singh, Ist; Rahul, 2nd and Anuj Singh, 3rd. 41-44 kg: Ankit Singh, Ist and Marinal Sawl, 2nd. 44-47 kg: Nitin Plasar, Ist; Vishav Dogra, 2nd; Pawan Kumar and Shivam Verma, joint 3rd. 47-50 kg: Sanjeev Sharma, Ist; Guneet Singh, 2nd and Tushar Khajuria, 3rd. 60-64 kg: Imran Ali, Ist and Prashist Sharma, 2nd.
SENIORS: Semi-finals: 46-49 kg: Gourav bt Raj Kumar; Rajnish bt Nitish. 49-52 kg: Pardeep Sharma bt Rohit Attri; Saleem Khan bt Rohit Kumar. 52-56 kg: Vinay Kumar bt Sumit Sharma; Prem Prasad bt Nishal Dalmotra. 60-64 kg: Satpal bt Vijay Gurang; Ashish Chalotra bt Amit Sharma. 69-75 kg: Avinash bt Aman; Gulshan bt Susheel.
