| HC stays appointment of GMC lecturer | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb-03:- Justice Sunil Hali today stayed appointment of a lecturer of surgery in GMC. Thee order was passed in a petition filed by Dr Rajiv Gupta challenging the appointment of Dr. Amit Suri.
In the petition filed through Advocate RK Gupta in which it has been submitted that the private respondent Dr. Amit Suri did not possess the requisite experience for selection to the post of lecturer in surgery and there was deficiency in this regard in the application form of the respondent which is reflected in the notice issued by the Public Service Commission on December 23, 2010. The grievances projected that despite this deficiency the private respondent has been selected as lecturer in Surgery Govt Medical College Jammu.
The court issued notice to respondents, Senior Adv UK Jalali waived notice on behalf of private respondent and Adv FA Natnoo on behalf of PSC and notice issued only to State of J&K through Commissioner/Secretary Health & Medical Dept. In the meanwhile Court ordered that Subject to the objections by the other side and till further orders, appointment of private respondent Dr. Amit Suri to the post of lecturer in surgery GMC Jammu made vide order January 24, 2011 shall remain stayed.
