GHSS Mubarak Mandi celebrates Annual Day | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 4: Education Minister Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed today said that progress and prosperity of any area wholly depends on its education standards and level of literacy. Minister was addressing the students of Govt. Higher secondary school Mubarak Mandi on its Annual day cum Prize distribution function. MLA, Ashok Khajuria, former Minister, Yogesh Sawhney, Director School Education, G. A. Qureshi, CEO, Jammu, State President Lecturer’s forum, lecturers and students were present on the occasion. Spelling out measures launched by the government, Minister said that one of the main agendas of the present dispensation is to eradicate illiteracy and improve school and higher education. He said various measures are being enforced to enhance literacy rate in the State and bring down graph of school dropouts by way of opening and upgrading scores of primary schools, establishment of EGS’s and KGBV’s construction of school buildings etc. Minister said besides equipping the educational institutions of the State especially in rural and unreachable pockets, the coalition government is paying special attention on teacher’s training in specific subjects, promoting co-curricular activities along with academics. He said the day is not too far when Jammu and Kashmir will also be recognized for its excellent literacy rate and education quality. On the occasion, a colourful cultural bonanza was presented by the students. Later, the Minister distributed prizes among the students who excelled in academics and participated in national sport events. Earlier the Minister released an annual publication of the school depicting its activities and achievements.
