Bhalla launches development works | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 4: Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla has sought cooperation of the people in implementing the development programmes on ground level adding that government is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people across the state including regular electricity, healthcare, education, better sewerage, safe drinking water, road connectivity and lanes. This was stated by the Minister after launching various development works at Chatha Farm, Ajeet Nagar and Kokrian Kothey, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 60 lakh. While interacting with the locals, Bhalla asked the executing agency to complete the development works within stipulated time frame for the convenience of general masses. Reiterating the government’s commitment of improving the economic condition of BPL population, the Minister said several steps have been taken for the upliftment of the weaker sections of the society adding that certain schemes for their welfare, including provisions for financial assistance to help them to start economic activities at local level. Bhalla apprised the people there is no constraint of funds as UPA Government headed by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has provided liberal funding to the State Government for uplifting the socio-economic condition of the people across the State. Responding to the demands of Kothey Kokrian village, the Minister announced Rs. 4.50 lakh for digging the two deep drill hand pumps. He asked the PHE authorities to complete all the allied works within prescribed time so that the people not feel drinking water deficit during coming summer season.
