Awareness lectures on ‘Health’ and ‘Nature’ | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Feb 4: Two awareness lectures were organised by Women Development Cell and Nature Club of Government Degree College (GDC) Udhampur in collaboration with various agencies. First lecture on “Personal Hygiene” was held in connection with the “World Cancer Day”. Superintendent District Hospital (DH) Udhampur Chander Parkash was the Chief Guest while Prof. Kusam Gupta of the College presided over. In his address, he dwelt at length on the communicable diseases and importance of personal hygiene. In another programme, Nature Club of the College in collaboration with Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu organised awareness lecture on “Preventing Forest Fires”. Sajjad Mufti IFS, Divisional Forest Officer Udhampur was the resource person. In his interaction with the students, he, in detail discussed various causes of crown fire and ground fire. Earlier the programme began with the formal welcome address by Prof. Sudhir Singh, convener Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the College. Prof. G R Verma proposed the formal vote of thanks. Dr. B.C Verma, Prof. Banarasi Dass, Prof. Ravi, Prof. Sadhna Sharma, Prof. Kewal Kumar, Prof. Romesh Sharma, Prof. Anita Sharma , students and officials from Department of Science and Technology attended the programme.
